Every one of those combinations falls into just six categories, and the entire skill of Teen Patti rests on knowing how rare — or how depressingly common — your category is. The Six Hands, Strongest First

• 1. Trail (Set / Trio): three cards of the same rank. A-A-A is the best hand in the game; 2-2-2 still beats every non-trail hand at the table.
• 2. Pure Sequence (Straight Flush): three consecutive cards in the same suit, such as A♠-K♠-Q♠.
• 3. Sequence (Straight): three consecutive cards in mixed suits — A-K-Q down to 4-3-2.
• 4. Colour (Flush): three cards of one suit that are not consecutive. Compare the highest card first, then the second, then the third.
• 5. Pair: two cards of the same rank. The pair's rank decides first; the third card breaks ties.
• 6. High Card: none of the above. The highest card decides, exactly as in a colour comparison.

Reading the Table Like a Player

Three practical conclusions fall straight out of those percentages:

• Three-quarters of all hands are junk. When you hold even a small pair, you are ahead of a random hand about five times out of six. The mistake is not valuing a pair — it is refusing to let go of one when a seen opponent keeps raising into you.
• Sequences win showdowns. At barely one hand in thirty, a sequence beats everything an opponent is statistically likely to hold. Most experienced players commit firmly from this tier upward.
• Trails are once-a-night events. At a six-player table dealing forty hands, odds are that not a single trail appears. If you get one, your only job is keeping opponents in the pot.

Tie-Breaks Between Equal Categories

Two sequences are compared by their top card, with A-K-Q highest and (on most tables) A-2-3 second. Two colours compare card by card from the top. Two pairs compare pair rank, then the kicker.
